Wednesday, March 25th, 2009Dixie Web Site Goes Live!
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009Dixie web site activated March 21, 2009.
Dixie Chapter #1679 has a new web site! The site was financed by an initial cash donation from Dixie’s President, Mrs. Carol Dustin. Several weeks of development time were donated by the husband of Treasurer, Mrs. Janet Dempsey. Initial content was provided through the combined efforts of Secretary, Mrs. Yolanda McDonald, Mrs. Carol Dustin, and Mrs. Janet Dempsey. The design and custom artwork were created by Bill Dempsey. Our official web mistress will be Mrs. Janet Dempsey.
This new web site is something we can all be proud of and it will require small ongoing content contributions from everyone. Let’s keep it up-to-date! Let’s all post plenty of photos and activities, so we can show others the joy and pride we take in this great organization! Dixie is an amazing chapter filled with wonderful people. Let’s show everyone what it means to be a lady from Dixie!
Dixie approves new Chapter Pin!
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009Approved February, 2009
Dixie Chapter #1679 has a new chapter pin designed by the talented Pamela Wright. Her winning pin design shows a white magnolia with green foliage and a loop of bright red ribbon. On the ribbon are the words “Dixie Chapter 1679 UDC.” The pin also contains the original charter date, July 11, 1917, as well as the date Dixie was rechartered, April 15, 2008. The shape of the ribbon loop is reminiscent of the mathematical symbol for infinity, to symbolize the timeless nature of the Dixie Chapter’s return to life. The entire pin is an oval shape rendered in beautiful textured gold.
