General Nathan Bedford Forrest Heritage Defense Award Presentation – June 11, 2011

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

Here is a photo of Janet Grams, UDC Arizona Division President, receiving the Arizona Division SCV Lt. General Nathan Bedford Forrest Heritage Defense Award. The award was presented at the annual Arizona Division, Sons of Confederate Veteran Convention on June 11, 2911, at the Pueblo del Sol Country Club in Siserra Vista.

This was in recognition of her battle with the Equal Opportunity training held at the Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center. This was mandatory training for all military and civilian personnel at RWBAHC. During the training, the SCV and Camp 1710 in particular were called “Hate Groups.” Janet, of course, fought this.

Wreath Presentation – May 30, 2011

Saturday, July 2nd, 2011

On May 30, 2011, Dixie Chapter 1679 presented a wreath in the “Wreath Presentation” for the Memorial Day service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix. We were one among many lineage organizatoins presenting a wreath. We went away with full hearts for those who have served our country, those who were in attendance, and those who have gone onto a higher place. Because of these ladies and men, our ancestors up and through today, we have our freedom.
